Privacy and consent
Quizproof stores as little about your shoppers as it can and only uses it for the purposes they agreed to.
What is stored#
Quiz sessions: the answers, the recommended products and the market (country and currency). No name or postal address, and no email or phone unless the shopper opts in.
Opt-ins: when a shopper opts in, their email (and phone if given) goes to Shopify as a customer with the matching marketing consent, to Klaviyo if you connected it, and to your Shopify Flow workflows that use the Quiz taker opted in trigger. Quizproof keeps only what it needs to honour the consent later. When Quizproof sends a shopper their results by email, it keeps the address and a copy of that email with the quiz session, and deletes them with it.
Analytics (views, completions, add to cart, orders from quiz results) are counted without personal data, and the tracking that links a cart or order to a quiz only runs when the shopper's cookie choice allows analytics.
Consent#
Each opt-in checkbox is one purpose: email marketing, SMS marketing, or receiving the quiz results by email. None of them is ever pre-ticked or required. Quizproof records which text the shopper saw (the published version of your wording) and when. A shopper who unsubscribes in Shopify, or stops the results email (with the link in Quizproof's email or on their results page), is unsubscribed for that purpose only: anything waiting to be sent for it is cancelled, and Klaviyo is updated if you connected it. Marking Quizproof's results email as spam stops it too.
Retention#
Answers are kept for 365 days by default; change it under Settings › Privacy (30 to 730 days). After that the session is anonymised: the answers go, the counts stay.
Data requests and deletion#
Shopify forwards customer data requests and deletion requests to Quizproof. A data request produces an export of that shopper's quiz data for you to send them; a deletion request anonymises their sessions and removes their consents and opt-in data, here and in Klaviyo. When you uninstall, Shopify asks Quizproof to delete your store's data and it does.
Who can see answers#
Respondent answers and exports are in the admin for staff with access to the app. Under Settings › Privacy the store owner can limit them to the owner only. Every view and export of personal data is logged, and export links expire after 24 hours.

Menu paths such as Settings › Privacy are inside Quizproof: in your Shopify admin, open Apps › Quizproof. Where an article means Shopify's own settings, it says so.
